For authors:

We are interested in dyke stories from every perspective — butch, femme, trans, intersex, non-binary, working class, poor, racialized, indigenous, immigrant, bi, large, differently-abled. Travel costs wholly or partially covered + honorarium + place to stay.

Do you have to be a lesbian to write a lesbian story?

Nope. Nairne is a big fan of Love & Rockets (she has a tattoo of Hopey Glass on her arm), Strangers in Paradise, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer — all of which feature awesome lesbian storylines written by non-lesbians.

Nairne likes fiction with stylish writing that is witty, campy, or dark. Marina grew up in South Africa and likes world literature and memoir. Recent books she’s loved include: Chinelo Okparanta’s Under the Udala Trees, Marianne Thams’s Hitler, Verwoerd, Mandala and Me, and Lynette Loeppky’s Cease

If interested, contact us and send a short story or excerpt from your novel or memoir.
